Please join on us on for some fun conversation about the Spring Planting Season and how we can be mindful of our approach. We figure its a great way to kick off Earth Month and get you some valuable information from a panel of experts, including Nancy Lawson, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional and author of The Humane Gardener. The Humane Gardener was recommended by Oprah magazine, the Washington Post and many others.
Nancy will be joined by Lori Lilly, the founder and Executive Director of Howard EcoWorks, a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower an under-served workforce to respect and restore our natural systems for future generation. Lori ran a successful environmental consulting business for the past 3 years with concurrent management of Howard County’s Restoring the Environment and Developing Youth (READY) program. She has a background in non-profit management, watershed planning and restoration, and Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination (IDDE). Lori has a B.S. in Natural Resource Management and an M.S. in Marine Estuarine and Environmental Science.
Joining Nancy and Lori will be Lauren Turner founder and owner of Lauren’s Garden Services, As the primary gardener and landscaper, Lauren has a BS in Horticulture from Pennsylvania State University and an MS in Herbal Medicine from Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts. She has studied landscape architecture, sustainability, native plants, medicinal plants and permaculture practices. She has experience working on high-end landscapes, installing and maintaining beautiful gardens, hardscapes,ponds and rain gardens.
Our Moderator for the evening will be Allison Anderson of The Howard County Conservancy.
